Unida denounces noise pollution caused by Palmasol hotel |

People living in the area assure that this hotel uses ‘high power speakers’ |

The local council representation of the political party Izquierda Unida will
take care of complaints made by the neighbours who live in the Encina street and
Del Mar avenue against the noisy open-door musical activities that take place in
the Palmasol hotel in the town of Benalmádena. According to this political
party, performances are carried out with ‘high power speakers that make
impossible for the neighbours of the surrounding buildings to do any activity,
not even with the windows being closed, and this disturbs the peace in the
area’.
According to the communiqué
given by the party, the neighbours have already complaint to the Palmasol hotel
director in order to achieve that the performance take place inside the hotel
and not outside. They have also addressed their complaints to the local police
with several calls, but they haven’t received the adequate response.
According to IU, the local
regulations do not allow this kind of open door continuous performances, and
forbids the noise emission overcomes 55 decibels before 11:00 in the evening,
and 45 decibels from that hour on.
ACCORDING TO LAW
The managing staff of the Palmasol hotel, represented by the second reception
chief, assured that the performances fulfil all legal requirements. Besides, the
establishment tries to guarantee the peaceful staying of its customers, ‘who
have not complaint at all’. According to the hotel direction, all complaints
come from just one person.
